I am facing C Drive storage issue for few days.

I am facing this issue after downloading Linux Subsystem for Windows. I have also installed Ubuntu and FileZilla for using the Linux. Whenever I use FileZilla, my C Drive gets full so I uninstalled both, Ubuntu and FileZilla, in which Ubuntu was occupying space of about 23 GB.

After uninstalling, the C Drive storage is still full. C Drive storage is keep varying, sometimes it gets fully occupied and sometimes it shows space of about 2GB to 3GB.

Thanks for your fast reply but i resolved it.

Actually, Ubuntu's package folder were not deleted which was holding around 23GB. So after deleting that folder, space has been freed up.

@Yash_Kumavat, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding C Drive Storage Issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

It seems like you are experiencing storage issues on your HP 15-d5000 laptop after installing and using Linux Subsystem for Windows, along with Ubuntu and FileZilla. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Disk Cleanup:

  • Open the Start Menu and search for "Disk Cleanup."
  • Select the C drive.
  • Check all the boxes for files you want to delete, including system files.
  • Click "OK" and then "Delete Files."

Check Temporary Files:

  • Open the Start Menu and go to "Settings."
  • Navigate to "System" > "Storage."
  • Under "Temporary files," check for items you can delete (like temporary files, system error memory dump files, etc.).

Managing Storage Settings:

  • Go to "Settings" > "System" > "Storage."
  • Ensure "Storage Sense" is turned on. This feature helps manage and free up space automatically.

Uninstall Unwanted Programs:

  • Open the Control Panel.
  • Navigate to "Programs" > "Programs and Features."
  • Uninstall any programs you no longer need or use.

Analyze Disk Space:

  • Use a third-party tool like WinDirStat to analyze what is taking up space on your C drive. This can help identify large files or folders that you may not be aware of.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
