Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

NOTEBOOK HP ENVY M4
MODEL: m4-1115dx
PRODUCT: D1D58UA#ABA

The notebook worked normally.
I shut down, remove the battery and replace the HD with a new SSD.
When booting, a standard message appeared telling me to continue. After that, the notebook no longer started normally.
The screen goes black, the keyboard flashes in CAPSLOOK 2x, and the wireless light stays orange.
From what I looked for, this indicates a BIOS error. I would have to reprogram. However, on HP website says that the product is discontinued and does not provide any drivers/software to reinstall the BIOS.
I tried replacing the previous HD and doing the recovery using "Win+b" or "Win+v" at startup, but nothing works.
Can anyone help by sending the correct file to reprogram the BIOS or a tip on how to solve it? Thanks

PT-BR:
O notebook funcionava normalmente.
Obrigado

Hi @Leandro-BR

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the blink lights on your keyboard!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

The Caps Lock blinking 2 times on your HP ENVY M4-1115dx indicates a BIOS corruption issue. you’ll need to manually recover or reflash the BIOS. Follow these steps:

Try BIOS Recovery Mode

  1. Turn off the laptop and disconnect power.
  2. Insert the original HDD back (if available).
  3. Hold the "Win + B" or "Win + V" keys, then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
  4. Release the power button but keep holding "Win + B" or "Win + V" until the screen lights up or you hear beeping sounds.
  5. If the HP BIOS Recovery screen appears, follow the on-screen instructions.

Create a BIOS Recovery USB

Since HP doesn’t provide BIOS files directly for discontinued models, try downloading an older BIOS version from third-party sites or similar HP models (m4 series).

1. Get the BIOS File

  • Check HP Drivers & Support by entering your product number.
  • If unavailable, search for a compatible BIOS update on HP forums or community pages.

2. Prepare a USB Drive

  • Format a USB flash drive (at least 8GB) as FAT32.
  • Copy the BIOS recovery files onto the USB.

3. Boot into BIOS Recovery Mode

  1. Insert the USB drive into the laptop.
  2. Hold Win + B, then power on the laptop.
  3. Wait for the BIOS recovery process to start.
