I have an OMEN laptop - 15-en0023dx, I recently installed COD to play Warzone and I am getting a TPM error. I updated my BIOS and updated the AMD firmware. I checked the security tab in the BIOS and it says TPM is enabled, the TPM management also says TPM is ready for use. What am I missing? Is there any fix to this issue?TPM.jpg

Hi @KingLouie2018,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing the details and the screenshot! Here’s what I see and what’s happening:

What the Screenshot Shows

  • TPM Management on Local Computer
    • Status: The TPM is ready for use.
    • Manufacturer: AMD, Version: 3.92.0.5, Spec Version: 2.0.
  • This confirms that TPM 2.0 is enabled and functional at the OS level.

Why COD Warzone Shows TPM Error

Call of Duty: Warzone uses Kernel-level anti-cheat (Ricochet), which checks for Secure Boot + TPM 2.0 compliance. Even if TPM is enabled, the game can throw errors if:

  • Secure Boot is disabled in BIOS.
  • Windows is not in UEFI mode (Legacy boot).
  • TPM ownership or PCR values are inconsistent after BIOS/firmware updates.
  • Corrupted Windows Security settings or missing updates.

Recommended Fix

Step 1: Verify Secure Boot

  1. Restart and enter BIOS (Esc → F10 on HP).
  2. Go to Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
  3. Ensure:
    • Secure Boot = Enabled.
    • Boot Mode = UEFI (not Legacy).
  4. Save and exit.

Step 2: Clear and Reinitialize TPM

  • In Windows:
    1. Press Win + R, type tpm.msc.
    2. Under Actions, click Clear TPM.
    3. Restart and confirm. (This resets TPM ownership and fixes PCR mismatches.)

Step 3: Check Windows Security

  • Open Windows Security > Device Security > Security Processor Details.
  • If it shows Ready, you’re good.
  • If not, click Security Processor TroubleshootingClear TPM.

Step 4: Update Everything

Step 5: Enable Game Mode & Anti-Cheat

  • Ensure Windows Game Mode is ON.
  • Ricochet anti-cheat requires TPM + Secure Boot to be both active.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

This did not resolve the issue. I contacted AMD and they state an update is required from HP. Is there any planned update for this problem?
