Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hi, since the support for Windows 8.1 is ending next year, I decided to upgrade to Windows 10, but when the laptop boots up, the CPU usage is up to 100% and starts heating up. I have a low specs laptop (4 GB RAM), but I did install an SSD.

I was wondering if this is an interim issue which will resolve overtime, considering this is the first install of Windows 10, or it is expected and would not resolve since the laptop is not that powerful?

Thanks.

Have you checked in Task Manager to see which program is using your cpu usage.

Mostly "System".
