Hard drive failed, no recovery partition on new drive. installed windows XP, I do not have original Vista CD's the laptop did not come with one.
Once XP is installed I get a number of unknown devices error in device manager
Network, WiFi, USB, co-processor, etc.
the HP site no longer has the drivers for download, where can I find them now?

Hi:
You probably need this Wi-Fi driver:
Atheros 2011 Wireless LAN Driver
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp54501-55000/sp54972.exe
This driver should install the ethernet adapter and coprocessor.
I think your notebook uses the same chipset as this one.

Unfortunately, I don't.
I've never used this site before, but they indicate they have the driver if you install their software.
I couldn't find where you could just download the driver.
