HP Pavilion Laptop PC 13-bb0047nr

Hi HP Community,

I have a 1.5 year old HP Pavilion laptop.  It went belly up when I innocently tried to install the Windows 11 H2 2022 update.  I have to flatten and reinstall Windows 11 from a USB image.  How can I get my Windows product key, which I assume I will be asked for to activate the new copy of Windows?  (Someone was too disorganized to find the original paperwork with the product key on it.)  I think I'm 6 months out of warranty, so I really appreciate your guidance.

Thanks,

Windowsless in Seattle

Please use

           https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/showkeyplus/9pkvzcprx9nv#activetab=pivot:overviewtab

You can also use the following tool

        https://www.belarc.com/products/belarc-advisor/download

As you can see it gives you old and new keys - they are the same.

BH,

I really appreciate your help on this - thanks!

Possibly dumb question, but my system is gone and I have to reload from formatted storage.  Do these tools work in that case?

Thanks,

David

You can install now and get the key later. You don't need to use the key, machine will automatically activate itself using the embedded key in BIOS

BH,

Super!  Thanks again for this guidance.  I am in the process of doing a reinstall and will validate that this works as advertised after I get that far down the road.

Thanks so much,

David
