Pavilion 17 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

Hello,

My HP Pavilion 17 Notebook has been running off of Windows 8.1 (64-bit) since I've gotten it. I was wondering if it was possible for me to update it to Windows 10 without damaging my PC or losing any information. Is it possible for me to do this and safely do this? Any help or input including helpful steps would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Bobby

Hi:

Here is the advice I can offer...Your notebook was originally supported by HP for W10 when it first came out as there are W10 drivers for it on the support page.

What no one will be able to tell you is if your notebook will run correctly on the latest build of W10 (v1909).

It should, but there is no guarantee.

If you want to take the chance on the upgrade, it is easy to do, but I recommend you back up your files and use the free Macrium Reflect software to create a system image and a bootable recovery disk or flash drive so if things don't go right, you can easily restore your PC to its current state.

To upgrade to W10, just click on the blue Update Now button at the link below.

You should also be able to upgrade to W10 for free...Watch this video...
