Hi @MutatnMike

Thank you for posting in the HP Support forum.

The model HP 15-BW011DX comes with Windows 10 preinstalled. This machine has been designed with Windows 10 in mind and HP has never created drivers for Windows 7, or tested officially Windows 7 compatibility with this machine.

The original recovery drives are for Windows 10.

If you need a computer capable of running Windows 7 without issues, consider a business class device. You may consider a second-hand certified refurbished device in the HP Business outlet in the USA:

Thanks!

Are the graphics on business models capable of streaming my HD movies with no issue?

Hi, @MutatnMike

There is one definite issue you would run into, and that is the wifi card your model comes with will not work on W7 unless you remove the card and mask a couple of pins.  See this discussion.

Not sure you want to be doing stuff like that with a brand new notebook and risk voiding the warranty.

Other than that, there do appear to be W7 drivers available from AMD, Realtek and HP that might work.

I see a W7 graphics driver on the AMD website, and a chipset driver.

I just don't know if that chipset driver will install the USB 3.1 ports in W7.

Too much trouble, IMO, but if you want to do it, I will be happy to try and help you out--with the drivers, not with masking the pins on the wifi card.

None of the new HP business class notebooks will run W7.  Nor do they have W7 driver support.

You'll run into the same or worse issues with the wifi adapters.  No graphics drivers for the newest Intel or AMD platforms.
