Linux

I am considering running Linux on my Pavilion 15-p025ax , product number J3Z02PA which is currently running Windows 8 64-bit. Has anyone successfully run a particular Linux version on this model notebook? Am I likely to encounter any compatibility issues?

Hello @swiftanddeadly

I cannot be 100% certain but I did a research, checked your PC BIOS and specs and I believe there will be no problem running most Linux distros. You can start with the most popular one Ubuntu (coming from Debian code) , various Ubuntu derivatives such as Xubuntu, Ubuntu MATE, etc... Linux Mint, etc....

All these you can run without installing, from a live CD/DVD or better USB pendrive, you can run them temporary and test most components such as network, basic video, etc....

In order to boot from the pendrive, you will need to use the Esc/F9 button during start up >> https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GSN0qzXayUY
