Product: HP Chromebook - 14-ca020nr
Operating System: Chrome OS

Hello I recently bough a laptop on craigslist and when I reset the laptop,  I get an error message saying CHROME OS IS MISSING OR DAMAGE. I tried redownloading the software for the Chrome Recovery Utility App but I couldnt locate my model. Upon further research, I found that this particular model had been discontinued. So I was wondering is there any way to access the laptop again? I cannot do anything on the laptop besides insert a USB flash drive or SD card with the software on it but I cannot get the software because I cannot find the model listed. Someone please help. Thank you

A system recovery completely erases any local files or settings and returns the computer to its original factory-shipped state.
  • If a hard reset does not resolve your issue OR your Chromebook shows the error message Chrome OS is missing or damaged, you might need to perform a system recovery. For detailed instructions go to Chromebook Help Center and search for Recover your Chromebook.
