Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

I have previously upgraded from Vista to Windows 7 Home Premium and now want to upgrade to Window 10. Is my PC compatible? My hard drive is partitioned into 2 drives, Should I install OS to the smaller partition or eliminate partition all together? Should I use 32 or 64 bit system version of win10?  I tried once already and was stuck in a boot loop after installation at set-up. I reinstalled Win7 and want to try again. I need to figure what went wrong before trying again.

Anything else I should know?

Thanks

Russ

The different Win10 versions become more demanding of new hardware over time, not less.  So, if you tried an Upgrade a year or more ago and that failed, most likely, anything newer is going to fail, as well.

The problems with Vista-era PCs is the lack of Win10 drivers for the hardware which came with them, and since no one is writing Win10 drivers for that hardware, that situation is not improving over time.

If you wanted to take the trouble to install a backup utility and make an image backup of your OS to external media, then you could experiment -- but that involves work and expense, and if this were my PC, I would not do it.
