I have a Pavilion X2 10-n013dx
I was wondering if this could be upgraded to Windows 10 or Windows 11. It is currently on Windows 8.1, I believe.
Here's a link to the specs:
I haven't turned it on for several years and when I did, it went to update the OS and apparently that crapped out because it said it was rolling back the changes and now I get the dreaded error code 0xc0000185, meaning the BCD is corrupt.
This device doesn't have an internal DVD and I also do not have the recovery media as I bought it like 8 yrs ago so I will have to boot via USB drive.

Hi:
The notebook has support for W10 32 bit.

Since there is no such operating system as W11 32 bit, you won't be able to install W11.
Make a bootable W10 32-bit installation flash drive with the media creation tool from the link below.
Download Windows 10 (microsoft.com)
Boot from the installation media and when you get to the version of W10 to install, select W10 Home.
Then you will be asked to enter a product key.
Select the 'I don't have a product key' option.
After W10 installs, you will need to activate it and you should be able to use the W8.1 product key in your notebook's BIOS in order to do that.
After you install W10, install the free Showkey Plus app from the Microsoft Store and it will show you the W8.1 product key in your notebook's BIOS.
