I just want to put my experience with this problem to whom it may concern.
I bought the above PC just because I saw its drivers for windows 7 in hp site! That is because I still like working with this operating system. So I tried since the first day (25th July) to install windows 7 as I failed before with an Asus laptop having UEFI bios and GPT partition as there were no drivers for Win7 published for it.
So, here is my experience with the above notebook (Itried two methods with success):
A- Installing Windows 7 x64 on an MBR partition.
1) Download the PC drivers for Win7 (from Hp site).
2) Extract the file sp74851 (USB 3.0-extensible-Host ...) into a directory IN THE HARD DISC, to remember.
3) Prepare the Installation 'flash disc' of Win7 using (' Rufus'). Choose:
MBR Partition scheme for BIOS or UEFI
4) Restart the PC and access to:
BIOS®Advanced®Secure boot configuration and choose:
Legacy support enable and secure boot disable
5) Exit saving the changes. Due to the change of the security setting, at the start the bios asks you to enter a displayed code, enter this code (hp wants to ensure the physical presence of the user!)
6) Access the bios to make sure that the changes in step 6 were saved, because if the code in step 7 was not entered the changes will not be saved.
7) Insert the installation disc into a USB 3.0 port, boot up and access to:
Bios®Boot menu, and choose:
Legacy - '' name of your flash disc ''
😎 When the installation starts, the installer prompts for drivers. That is because it does not recognize the USB ports and so cannot continue with the flash memory connected in one of them, click Browse and go to the USB 3.0 drivers in the directory created in step 4. A driver appears: USB 3.0-extensible-Host… , select it and click 'next'.
9) If the program still requires drivers:
- Uncheck the box to the left of the phrase '' Hide incompatible drivers ... ''at the bottom of the displayed window''.
- Choose the last driver at the bottom: '' USB-Hub.... '' And click '' next ''.
10) Choose the installation partition and continue...
Windows was installed very well and accepts all drivers for all devices and can be activated.
B- Installing Windows 7 x64 in a GPT partition
For a GPT disc (as that one came with the notebook) we can install Windows 7 by following the same above steps with these notes:
- The choice in step 5 must be :
GPT Partition scheme for UEFI
- The choice in step 9 must be :
UEFI-‘name of your flash disc’
- Apparently, you cannot activate Windows 7 in this GPT partition except using a genuine Microsoft license!
- In this installation I noticed that to display the start menu (to choose Win 7 or Win 10):
If you are in Windows 10, execute the command '' Restart '' and not '' Shutdownm, and power on the PC''
