Pavilion 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I currently have a HP palivion 15 with Windows 10 home.
But i want to upgrade to windows 10 Pro, can i upgrade without breaking my waranty?
I've searched the forum but couldnt find a topic like this so i created one 😛

The HP warranty applies to the hardware, not the software, so if you do an in-place upgrade from Home to Pro, that will not violate the warranty.

 

However, be sure that the Upgrade does not do a clean reinstall -- as that will wipe out the HP software and drivers in the process.

Warranty is a grey/gray area very hard to say in concrete. For new generation machines adding something is a work for Authorized Service Provider parts . You can add yourself. If something went wrong due to this upgrade, I think HP would not honor warranty. Normally you have to go back to Windows Home before claiming warranty.
