Can´t access UEFI

I would be happy if someone could help me with problems concerning the EFI file.

When I try to get into UEFI settings I end up in the system configuration menu. After selecting boot options then choosing boot from EFI it shows: no volume label and some numbers. When I continue I have multple options such as bootx64.efi.

Lecacy boot is deactivated.

I reinstalled Windows several times (with different ISO-files) and tried HP Sytem Diagnostics and HP Bios Repair without results.

I hope somebody has an idea.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Follow the steps below to configure the boot order on most computers.

  1. Turn on or restart the computer.

  2. While the display is blank, press the f10 key to enter the BIOS settings menu.

The BIOS settings menu is accessible by pressing the f2 or the f6 key on some computers.

  3. After opening the BIOS, go to the boot settings.

    • For notebook PCs: select the Storage tab, and then select Boot Options.

    • For desktop PCs: select the System Configuration tab, and then select Boot Order.

  4. Follow the on-screen instructions to change the boot order.

If the issue persists, follow the next steps. I would suggest performing system factory reset will put the computer back to the original factory settings in this way all corrupted and outdated software will be removed.

While doing the recovery there is an option to backup your personal files. If you have not previously done one now is a good time.

Restoring Files that were Backed Up Using HP Recovery Manager (Windows )You can also contact HP support for assistance. They can remotely access your system to help alleviate difficulties: www.hp.com/contacthp/

The HP Cloud Recovery Tool allows you to download recovery software to a USB drive. You can use the downloaded recovery image file in order to install the Windows operating system.

The default boot order settings for the computer are configured in the factory. The default boot order determines what the computer boots to first.

  • UEFI boot orde

  • Legacy boot orde

To boot to a DVD, CD-ROM, USB device, there must be bootable files installed or the PC might bypass the device and load what is installed on the local PC.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

Thank´s for the answer.

What should I change the boot order to? It´s set to boot os first. I don´t think that is the problem.

Could there be a problem with the BIOS chip?

Maybe there is a wrong entry from third party software?

What will a system factory reset lead to? Because I wiped the HD an overwrote it multiple times.

I think grub bootloader or ubuntu boot repair conflicted with something beause I had dual boot.

Thank you for posting back.

The OS on your hard drive seems to be corrupted, I would suggest please install the clean OS on your HDD using HP cloud recovery tool.

While initiating the OS installation select boot order from a USB drive.
