Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When I try to boot normally I get the black screen with the HP logo and the spinning dots.  The dots keep spinning for hours.

I have tried Automatic Repair.  I get to the screen with the HP logo and ' Preparing Automatic Repair' and the spinning dots.  The dots keep spinning for hours.

I have tried diagnostics.  I ran the quick and the long tests.  Everything seems to be okay.

I tried booting off of a USB Windows 10 boot drive.  The computer won't boot off of a USB drive.  I checked the thumb drive to be sure it was bootable.

I tried to boot off of a  Hiren's Boot CD.  It wouldn't boot  boot off of the CD.

I am open to any suggestions.

@Edicken

IF this PC came with Win10 preloaded then it is likely using UEFI, not BIOS, and those come with Secure Boot enabled -- which will prevent you from booting from anything other than the preloaded OS.

You need to go into your UEFI settings and disable Secure Boot.  You also need to look there to see if there is also a setting that disables booting from portable media -- as that will also prevent booting from USB or CD.

Thank you for the reply.

I disabled secure boot.  When I rebooted it asked me to put in a  key to prove I requested the boot change.  The USB drive flashed a few times but the computer still did not boot.
