@MARKRM

Why do you need to reconnect the power cable to the system board? Did you disassemble the laptop and are now putting it back together? Did you purchase a different system board to replace the one that was in there?

This is a link to the service guide for that model PC:  http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c01860375

The information on the system board and cables is on page 4-38.

Yes, I've replaced the motherboard as I have done the same on the HD, Processor.....there's not much left. I know this isn't the correct way to identify and fix problems but I can't figure out how to get this thing going. All has gone well until now and is the last connection I need to plugin' then hopefully I'm back in business. Thank You in advance, - MRM

Greetings,

Thank You for taking the time for me and this laptop. I read 4-38 and understand what you thought I meant, those wires go from the charging jack to the motherboard with one 6 pin wire plug on top of the motherboard and one 2 pin wire plug goes from the charging jack to the bottom of the motherboard.

What I need is the ribbon cable to fit from the motherboard (marked "POWER 6pin FFC") to a small cuircut board located right under the power switch. The ribbon is secure on the motherboard, but I cannot plug the ribbon into the jack under the power switch. It simply will not seat with just the ribbon terminals. It needs a plug connector that fits the ribbon to an adapter then fits to the jack under the power switch. - Thanks Again in advance
