HP Pavilion - 15-eg2067st
Microsoft Windows 11

I want to do a full reset on my wife’s HP Pavilion 15 with Windows 11 pro.  (locked out, need to do a full reset).  When I go to download the HP Cloud Recovery tool on another computer, it doesn't seem to work. It downloads, and I try to open "As Administrator" (like it says) but all it does after that is go to the Microsoft Store.  Click and MS Store never opens.  Start at Microsoft store and it sends me to the HP store. Microsoft/ HP: please fix your downloads on your recovery tools.

Try the file that I zipped up and attached below.

Unzip the file, double click to run it, it should install and then after it installs, you right click on the program and select 'Run as administrator.'

Paul:

Thanks so much for that.  I did get it to unzip and install.  Unfortunately, in running it (as Administrator) I got "The authentication is invalid or expired.  Please update HP Cloud Recovery Tool to latest version."

Do you or anyone else have the "latest" version?

You're very welcome, Mike.

Sorry that version didn't work.

I just downloaded the latest version from the Microsoft Store, zipped it up and attached it below.

Hopefully this one will work.

Paul: Thanks again. That seemed to get me there. It is building a USB drive as I write this.  Only trick to mention was that the first time I installed the new version I hadn't yet uninstalled the one from yesterday.  It didn't complain, but didn't correct it.  My bad. Second try I did uninstall and then it was workable.  I'll post again once the whole OS install is done.

Just letting you know that everything worked -- Win11 is reinstalled and I am now re-configuring for my wife .  I appreciate your help, and I'm sure it will help others as well.
