Can't download drivers from HP website.

I can't download drivers from https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-pavilion-dv7-3000-entertainment-notebook-pc-seri... .  Hard disk crashed and I will need to download drivers after i re-install the OS.

The problem you are facing is that HP retires support for PC's that are 10 or more years old, which is why the dv6-3000 driver page isn't responding.

However, they haven't retired the dv7-3100 Intel model series yet, and if your notebook has an Intel processor and chipset, the drivers from that site should work on yours.

My computer is a Model dv7-3079wm.

The processor in this computer is an AMD Turion.

The drivers from this model should work on yours.   Don't use the BIOS files though.

The dv6 model series is the 15.6" display version of your notebook.

I highly recommend you save these driver files someplace, because HP will probably be retiring this support page very soon.

I have saved these drivers.  Now I am just waiting for the replacement disk drive so I can install them.
