Product number: 5CG4513775
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
  • Hello,

This is something I can't understand, when I try to download the BIOS file from HP website, of course aftrr entering my laptop product number (5CG4513775) there is no BIOS category to choose from, you can try yourself...

The BIOS is downloadable only if I choose a 8.1 32 bits OS, but I am running on win 10 32 bits... Please can you provide me with the BIOS file or link.?

Thank you in advance.

Khaled

Hi:

Unfortunately, that would not be possible.

HP only released a BIOS update for W8.1, not W10, which is why one doesn't show up on the W10 support page.

There are many model notebook and desktop PC's like that.

Since the BIOS update was written to be run on W8.1, I don't know what would happen if you ran it using W10.

It might work fine, or it may wreck your notebook.

But HP will not be releasing a BIOS update for W10 for your notebook.

Thanks a lot for your answer. This means that in order to refash the BIOS I would use the 8.1 version despite I am on a windows 10 OS?

Thanks a lot for you support

You're very welcome.

To be safe, yes.  I recommend you update the BIOS in W8.1 and then upgrade back to W10.

It's up to you if you want to risk running the BIOS update as is on W10.

You could try running it in W8.1 compatibility mode.

How to change the Windows compatibility mode (computerhope.com)

The update really doesn't do much...just says increased security.

Thanks a lot for your reply Paul, the problem is that my laptop doen't start because of a bios update failure (accidentally touched the usb flash drive during update 😭😭), now the laptop tries to stzrt the recovery of the bios (win key + B), the black screen starts with just the cursor blinking for a moment then it restats the process over and over again, I left it like this fot more then an hour, same scenario. Have you ever seen or told a situation like this? If yes please let me know how to solve this.

Thank you so much.

Khaled.

You're very welcome, Khaled.

Unfortunately I don't know how to recover the BIOS from a failed flash.

I've only had a BIOS update failure once, and tossed the PC into the trash because I don't know of a way to fix it.

You may want to start a new discussion on that issue.

Good luck.  I hope you can fix it.

Paul
