@Chromebook11g8e, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Hard Reset the Chromebook (EC Reset)

This clears low-level hardware faults.

Turn off the Chromebook.

Press and hold: Refresh (🔄) + Power for 10 seconds.

Let go of both keys.

Wait a few seconds, then power it on normally.

Try reconnecting to Wi-Fi and checking if it gets past the “Can’t reach Google” screen.

Try a Different Network (With No Captive Portal)

Even though you've tried this, make sure the network has:

No login splash page (coffee shop/hotel Wi-Fi often has these)

Open DNS settings – avoid strict parental controls or firewalls.

Try using your phone’s hotspot with mobile data, and disable VPN or private DNS settings.

Check for TPM/Enrollment Lock

If your Chromebook used to belong to a school or business, it may have Enterprise Enrollment Lock.

Symptoms:

“Can’t reach Google”

Can’t sign in after reset

Stuck at enrollment screen

If this is the case, there's no way to bypass it without the organization’s admin credentials. You’ll need to contact the school or previous owner and ask them to remove it from their device list in Google Admin Console.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
