Hi, I am having some problems while gaming lately. My games cause a crash after about 2 minutes of gaming and I do not know the problem. I tried a lot of solutions but none of these worked.
So, today I decided to try a startup repair but when I go in the troubleshoot section I cannot see the startup repair icon that should appear.
Any solutions?
Thanks in advance.

Hi @SamuPoli613,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with your laptop may be experiencing system issues that affect gaming stability, and the absence of a "Startup Repair" option in the Troubleshoot menu could be due to a Windows installation issue or a misconfigured recovery environment. Here are some steps to help you resolve this:
1. Check if Startup Repair is Accessible from the Recovery Environment
- Restart your computer and try holding down the Shift key while selecting Restart from the Start menu. This can sometimes take you directly into the Advanced Startup Options menu where Startup Repair might appear.
2. Use the Command Prompt to Initiate Startup Repair
- If Startup Repair is still missing, you can try launching it from the Command Prompt in the recovery environment:
- Go to Advanced Options > Command Prompt.
- Enter the following command: startrep.exe
- This may trigger Startup Repair if the recovery tools are installed correctly.
3. Run System File Checker (SFC) and DISM Commands
- Corrupted system files can cause issues with stability and the startup repair menu. Run these commands to fix corrupted files:
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Run SFC to check for and fix corrupted files: sfc /scannow
- Then, run DISM to repair the Windows image: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
4. Ensure Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE) is Enabled
- In some cases, Windows Recovery Environment might be disabled, which hides Startup Repair.
- Open Command Prompt as Administrator and type: reagentc /info
- If WinRE is disabled, enable it with: reagentc /enable
5. Consider Performing a System Restore or Reset HP PCs - Reset the computer
- If nothing else works and the problem persists, consider using System Restore to revert to a point before the issues started, or perform a Windows reset (keeping files) if system corruption is suspected.

I hope this helps.
