Can’t type changing boot mode code

Hello

i have a hp15bs289m and my w10 crashed.  I have a system recover usb and I entered bios to change boot order.  But when I f10, the hp screen where I had to type the code to accept the boot changes freezes and I can’t do anything but restart the notebook again

conclusion, I can’t change the boot order ...

and cant repair my w10....

what at can I do??

Hi:

You don't need to change the boot order.

Have the USB recovery drive in one of the notebook's USB ports.

Turn on or restart the PC.

Immediately press/tap the ESC key to get the menu of options.

Select the F9 boot options menu, and from that select the USB flash drive and press the Enter key.

The PC should boot from the flash drive.

Note: The USB boot device option may be labeled as USB diskette on key/USB hard drive.

I did what you said

for a while it worked but in the end I selected the .efi file and ENTER. 

But system ignored and restarted in the “blue screen automatic repair mode” in which no option I select made my notebook work...

what part am I missing?

When you selected the USB flash drive that should have been listed along with the EFI file.

If there is no USB flash drive option to select, then you need to go into the F10 setup menu and disable secure boot.

Save the settings, go back to the F9 boot options menu and you should see a legacy boot options list and an EFI boot options list.

Select the EFI USB flash drive boot option and press the enter key.

After you get W10 to reinstall, you can go back into the BIOS and enable the secure boot setting again.

I see that secure boot is disabled.

You also need to enable the Legacy support option in your last screenshot and then you should be able to boot from the flash drive.

On some model notebooks when you disable secure boot, it automatically enables Legacy mode.

I guess it does not do that on your model.

but I gave up and used cmd to copy files from ssd to an external disk , made a portable drive w10 installation disk with Rufus and here I am...

Sometimes computer stuff sucks but we shall never lose hope !
