Hello, I'm trying to update the bios on this new laptop but when I start this message appears: "There is not enough free space"... yesterday i did a clean install of win11 because this laptop is new and had FreeBSD, so there is plenty of free space. Any solutions?

Thanks, I followed the procedure but all the folders "previous" and "current" were empty, so i removed the entire HP folder.

I read this thread: Solved: F.23 BIOS update can't be done due to EFI GPT System Partiti... - HP Support Community - 920...

Commands i used to delete HP folder:

mountvol B: /s

B:

dir

rd \EFI\HP /s

to confirm

After i tried again the update and it was installed succesful

I checked EFI partition and the HP folder and it has been recreated

@Leonardo_75,

The disk the error message is referring to is actually the EFI system partition (ESP).

The ESP stores critical boot system files. Your ESP is only 100 MB in size and may also contain a folder named 'HP.'

The error message suggests that files be deleted to free up some space.

You can check the EFI partition to see if you can find any files such as BIOS files that you can delete to create enough space for the BIOS update.

See this thread for how to do it.

Solved: BIOS update - HP Support Community - 9351669

When you can access the EFI partition in command prompt, find how much free space it has.
