HP ENVY 15-j175nr Notebook PC (ENERGY STAR)

Beats Audio Version

Story:

I installed Kali Linux on a fresh hard drive and booted up the laptop a couple times.  The first issue I had was; I would have to hit the power button a couple times in order for Kali to boot up correctly, making it to the Kali login screen. The majority of the time I hit the power button. My computer fans fire up for a brief second then shutdown, leaving me with a blank screen (the screen never turns on). The laptop is lightly used, meaning I rarely used it at all or ever. Everything worked great prior to installing Kali. I did change settings in the BIOS, but I can't access the BIOS to restore what I changed.

Now, the screen wont turn on at all. The fans do the same thing, turn on briefly and shutdown. I tried turning the laptop on and hitting the esc + f10 button to enter the BIOS and esc + f2 for diagnostics. Neither work. Also, tried the windows + B key. I've tried booting up with the hard drive mounted and no hard drive at all.

How do I fix this issue? Is there a button somewhere internally that I can press, sort of like a hard reset button? Am I doing something wrong? Do I need to do something and wait a couple mins for it to reset? How do I go about fixing this properly?

Thank You

Jason

I also re-seated the RAM and checked the RTC Battery.  RTC Battery has 2.96v.  I unplugged the RTC Battery and cpu battery for roughly 10mins and tried to restart but still get the same results.
