Hello. im indonesian people and just want to ask, can my laptop (Compaq Prasario CQ40) update my BIOS version from F.51 to lastest or supported bios for my laptop? this is why i want to update. I just done installing 2 GB ram (total 4096 MB) and i don't know why the system can use 2,9 GB only, i search in a website and i just found Microsoft say "The problem may occur becouse *THE SYSTEM BIOS IS OUTDATED* . in case, you have to update the system BIOS to lastest version", and i use another solution but didn't work. So this is why i want to update BIOS . Can you helpme answer this question i want get 4 GB for editing, multitasking, and of course play games

Hi:
HP retired support for your notebook since it is more than 10 years old.
This reputable 3rd party website has the last BIOS update HP released for your notebook, which was F.67.
HP Compaq Presario CQ40-606TU BIOS (driverscollection.com)
However, since you indicated that you are running W10 32 bit on your notebook, I don't know what will happen if you try and run the BIOS update which was designed to run on Windows Vista or Windows 7, on Windows 10.
Update the BIOS in W10 at your own risk.
It is not unusual for 2.5 GB - 3.0 GB of usable memory to be available in such an old notebook using a 32-bit operating system, so updating the BIOS may not make any difference.
