HP Stream Laptop 11-y0XX

I've had this laptop for about 3 years now, last year (around November)I tried updating my laptop, and it wouldn't work. I had recently purchased a Chromebook for school work, so I had cared little about my previous laptop, but still wanted it to work in case my sister needed a laptop. I tried the Factory Reset the laptop, and it wouldn't reset. I deleted nearly everything on the computer in the hope there'd be enough space to Reset, but it didn't work. I'm at a lost, I'm not very good with computers, and I'm not sure what has been deleted or what has been transferred onto Flashdrives. Please help! I just want to Reset it so I can start from sctatch.

Hi:

When you have issues like that, your only option would be to reinstall W10.

If you are not comfortable doing it yourself, then find someone (friend or relative) who is.

Using another windows PC, you make a bootable W10 USB installation flash drive using the Microsoft media creation tool at the link below.

Select the 64 bit installation media.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10

Boot from the installation media, and when you get to the part of the installation that asks 'Where do you want to install Windows,' delete every partition on the drive, leaving just one partition of unallocated space.

Click Next, and W10 will install.

After W10 has completed installing, you can install the drivers and available software from your notebook's support page.

Another way to reinstall W10 would be to use the HP cloud recovery client tool to create a bootable recovery drive.

You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this, as well as another working Windows PC.

Here is an info link for how to use that utility...
