Hello,
I recently purchased my HP laptop several weeks ago, but have been unsuccessful in my attempts to switch out of S mode. In S mode, I cannot download necessary apps such as Zoom, nor is it allowing me to download important documents that I need for work, which is becoming increasingly frustrating.
I have tried restarting my computer, as well as going to settings - update & security - activation - switch to Windows 10 Home, but every single time I click "Get", I receive a pop up that says "Try again later. Something happened on our end". Every. Time.
Please let me know how I can switch out of S mode so I can download and have access to the necessary files and apps I need for my personal and professional life. Thank you.

Hi @ajuenger ,
It would help if you identified your HP notebook with more specific product name/product number.
"HP Laptop " is unfortunately not specific enough. It would also help if you provided the version of the Windows operating system that it was delivered with..
If you purchased a notebook with Windows 10 (S mode), then the only way you can get the functionality that other Windows 10 versions have is by upgrading the OS.
Microsoft states the following:
"There's no charge to switch out of S mode. On your PC running Windows 10 in S mode, open Settings > Update & Security > Activation. In the Switch to Windows 10 Home or Switch to Windows 10 Pro section, select Go to the Store"

Thank you for your reply.
The version of the laptop is 15.6" Touch Screen, AMD Ryzen 5, Model 15-EF0023DX. The product number is 9YF67UA#ABA. The operating system in came in is Windows 10 Home in S mode 64-bit. Does this help figure out a solution any more?
Again, I tried Microsoft's version of switching out of S mode, but every time I get to the final step, it reads an error message on their part.
