Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Every listed tip and trick:

- "resetting windows updates"

- uninstall tricks during update for conexant drivers

- manual upgrade with the update tool

- forcing windows to not install drivers

- and every other tip and trick I could find.

Nothing allows  to update to the current windows.

3 years old and now it constantly demands I upgrade my end of life windows every day and won't stop nagging me about it no matter what I edit - which is great, because I cannot upgrade it no matter what else i edit.

Thanks HP.
Thanks for using crappy low end components and ignoring simple things like driver updates and leaving us in the lurch.
But do blame any one else, and tell me to reinstall windows from scratch - because why shouldn't waste hours upon hours of time trying fruitlessly to fix the mistakes of the people I paid to make a usable product.

Firstly, make sure you have checked out all the methods in the post.

Microsoft is always throttling availability to ensure a reliable download experience for all, so the update may not be offered to you right away. Additionally, some devices might have a compatibility issue for which a safeguard hold is in place. And not all features in an update will work on all devices.

In these cases, it will not offer the update until they are confident that you will have a good update experience.

If you still need assistance installing an update, Windows 10 Update Assistant may be able to help.

PiterGeek - as already mentioned - windows will not update automatically nor manually with the Assistant.

I have done all of those things you listed and more not even listed.

I have been working on this for months, but at least i was spared the constant nagging about it i now have.

This laptop has conexant audio and that is the root problem that prevents any update above my current 1909.

At first my machine was under hold - but all those were all removed, and by 20H2 the machine started trying to update itself regardless of blocks, now we are at 21h1, and the problem remains - because 1909 is end of life.

Further investigation shows neither HP nor Conexant have updated their drivers since 2019 (for win 1709)
Nor have they tested machines WITH conexant devices - their "approved works with windows list" has models that do not have the audio problem that the caused the windows update hold. They apparently have only "tested" windows with Realtek and Intel audio - no conexant tests.

I am one of many in the forums with this issue.
Some have been able to trick the update to occur - and all is well - but not all of us are so lucky.
The issue is current and on going - and none of these fixes worked either.
