HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Product: HP Laptop PC 15s-fq2000, Has a SK Hynix NVME SSD M.2 512. Laptop has Windows 10 Home. I need to Change it to windows 10 pro. I have created my Windows 10 Image with rufus GPT UEFI(non csm)  FAT32. However when it boots and I go to the windows installation I cannot see the SSD to load windows.

I have tried to disable secure boot and the tpm and clear boot keys. i still cannot see the SSD. what am i doing wrong.

I have used the similar process on my Toshiba Dynabook and Acer Travelmate and the same UEFI windows image works.

The NVME Storage in them detects immediately. What could I be doing wrong in this case, or what additional will I be required to do to load windows.

Hi:

See if this works...

Since your notebook has an Intel 11th gen core processor you have to do an extra step to install W10.

See the info at the link below.

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-15-f2000-laptop-pc-series/35900344/model/35900346/document/c...

The link they direct you to the HP support site doesn't work.

Here is the link to the driver you need...

This package contains the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Intel Rapid Storage Technology is designed to provide functionality for the Intel Storage Controllers. The driver improves Serial ATA (SATA) disk performance with Native Command Queuing.

18.0.1.1138

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp108501-109000/sp109000.exe

There is another thing I don't understand in that document, and that is where HP tells you to right click on the Intel driver file and select Extract to

When I ran through the steps, I don't get an Extract to option when I right click on the file.

So, if you have the same issue, download and install the free 7-zip file utility from the link below.

The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.

7-Zip (7-zip.org)

Then you can right click on the exe file, select 7-Zip from the menu, and select Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp109000), and copy that folder to your USB flash drive, and continue with the instructions.

If the above driver still doesn't allow Windows to see the drive, see if this version of the IRST storage driver works that I have zipped up and attached below.

This has no F6 folder.

The drivers are visible after you unzip the file and open the folder.

thank you for your response, I will attempt this now and revert.

You're very welcome.

One of those two sets of drivers should allow you to install W10.

Hi, i have all the files, can you please clarify as to where I should insert the diver in the bootable device, or should i select the driver in the windows installation manager.

Ok i found in the guide what to do it in the install manager, however both the drivers do not work.

Sorry that didn't work.

It worked for this person that has the same model series...and several others too.

Unfortunately, since this method should have worked, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.

hi thank you for your help, honestly this is baffling. i have loaded thousands of systems over the years, and this one is just giving me an uphill. seeing as it is new and i dont want to void the warranty by removing the ssd, ill take it back.
