HP 14 inch Laptop PC 14-f1000 (2L1A9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

New HP laptop, model 14-fq1074nr, Windows 11. First time I logged in (after several attempts), was able to set up quite a bit, including disabling S Mode (I want to download my own software). The next time I tried to login, I only got a black screen with a blue error box ("There is an issue with Trusted Platform Module [TPM] data, etc----"). I have tried a hard reset, plus a CMOS and CBR resets, but still just get black screen with blue error box. Now I want to create a USB BIOS recovery drive, but I do not know the OS version of this laptop (need it to find correct driver).  Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can determine what the OS version is for my laptop that is "dead?" Thanks!!

Hi:

The product specs for the notebook indicate that it originally came with W11 in S-Mode from HP.

It shouldn't matter what version of W11 the notebook came with.

The BIOS file would support all versions of W11 and there have only been two thus far.

The BIOS file is also good for W10 as well.

Here's a video on how to create a BIOS recovery drive.

Thanks so much for that speedy reply, Paul. I was concerned about the choice between the 21H2 and 22H2 versions, but you are basically saying either would work.  Thanks again.

You're very welcome.

That is correct.

I have never tried to use a BIOS recovery drive before, so unfortunately, I wouldn't be able to help you if the info I have provided doesn't work for you.
