Hi @Edfirst,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I am sorry to hear that you are encountering issues with receiving an attachment or scanning a document on your HP Pavilion Laptop and forwarding it via email, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue.

Check Email Client and Settings:

  • Ensure that your email client or service is configured correctly.
  • Check if there are any restrictions on the size or type of attachments allowed.

Scan Document Correctly:

  • Ensure you are scanning the document using compatible scanning software or the HP Smart app which is often recommended for HP products.

Attachment File Type:

  • Confirm that the file type you are trying to send as an attachment is supported by your email client. Common supported file formats include PDF, DOC, DOCX, JPEG, PNG, etc.

Check File Size:

  • Make sure that the attachment does not exceed the maximum file size allowed by your email service provider. You may need to compress the file if it is too large.

Update System and Drivers:

  • Ensure that your laptop has the latest system updates.
  • Update your HP scanner software and drivers through the HP Support Assistant, which can help resolve scanning software issues.

Take care and have an amazing day!
