Cannot set up windows hello pin

HP ENVY 17-n000 Notebook PC (Touch)
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

In setting up windows hello I can take a picture and then when it goes to set up a pin number I put in the number and the screen goes away. I had this set up when I first got the laptop. The computer froze up about 5 months ago and I had to send it in and they replaced the mother board and battery. Now I am unable to set up the windows hello feature. This feature is one of the reasons for buying this model

Thanks for the response, but it would not let me install it because of an "error". I tried 3 times.

Cannot set up windows hello pin

Hi @woodworker4,

Thank you for keeping me posted.

I recommend you create a new user account on the computer and then try setting up Windows hello.

Follow the below steps to create a new user account.

  1. Select Settings.
  2. Tap Accounts.
  3. Select Family & other users.
  4. Tap "Add someone else to this PC."
  5. Select "I don't have this person's sign-in information."
  6. Select "Add a user without a Microsoft account."
  7. Enter a username, type the account's password twice, enter a clue and select Next.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
