Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Like many others here, I cannot quarantine or delete the preinstalled.hptouchpointanalyticsclient. I am told to look for that name and similar HP names in Control Panel uninstall programs, but it never ever appears there.

Run commands are given that lead right back to Ctrl Panel, with the same results. There seems to be no way to remove this program or to quarantine it---I have tried dozens of times, as have many many others.

@Mishkyn
Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

There are two options to remove your device from the HP Touchpoint Manager account. You can remove your device through the HP Touchpoint Manager Device Unenrollment Utility window during the unenrollment process, or the administrator can remove the device later from the HP Touchpoint Manager web portal.

From the HP Touchpoint Manager Device Unenrollment Utility window:

  • In the HP Touchpoint Manager Device Unenrollment Utility window, type your Username and Password and then click Unenroll. HP Touchpoint Manage removes your device automatically from the HP Touchpoint Manager account.

From the HP Touchpoint Manager web portal

  • From the HP Touchpoint Manager web portal, click or tap the Devices tab.
  • Check the device that you wish to delete, and then click or tap Remove Selected Devices.
  • Click or tap Remove to confirm the deletion.

Additional workaround:

  • Go to the Windows Control Panel>System & Security>Administrative Tools>Services.
  • Find the HP Analytics service.  Click on it.  Stop the service, and change the startup type setting from Automatic to Disabled and restart the PC.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
