HP Probook 4530s
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have an HP Probook 4530s laptop.

I can no longer access Windows as I cannot input password, because the keyboard and mouse are not working.

What I tried so far:

- remove battery and start with AC power only

- remove AC power and start with battery only

- remove AC power and batery, wait for a while, start with both

Each time is the same behaviour. The system is booting up, it goes till Windows logon page, but at this moment I'm stuck, as keyboard is not working, nor mouse, so I cannot use on-screen keyboard, so I cannot login to Windows.

When laptop is starting, the keyboard is working, as it responds to ESC (to go to Startup Menu) or F10 to go to BIOS, or arrows (to switch to Safe Mode/Safe Mode with networking/Safe Mode with command prompt) or Enter.

In BIOS also the arrows and the mouse are working.

I tried to attach external keyboard and mouse. Same problem in all 4 USB ports. They stop working when Windows Logon page is displayed.

Starting  in Safe Mode/Safe Mode with networking/Safe Mode with command prompt have the same problem. It goes to Logon page, but keyboard and mouse are not working.

Any ideas what to do?

Thank you.

As Windows repair didn't help either, I "solved" the issue by re-installing Windows OS. 😐

Also, I already tried to Load Defaults in BIOS, but it didn't solve my problem.
