Cant boot into windows

Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

First off Had securityissues Had someone setting up hotspot for themselves. Att suggested that I get hard drive wiped. So I did and the tech said he put a new windows 10 installed. So when I logged in system worked fine for about a week and then security issues started again but this time it was coming from a root (?) So I ran anti virus scan and system came back everything was good! So I power off. Next morning system went to repair screen. Tried Cmd solution but nothing worked.  The last attempted was dism : image:c\offline/cleanup-image/restorehealth/source:C\test\mount\windows

deployment Image servicing and managemrnt tool version 10.0.19041.1

error 2 

unable to access the image

Can someone please explain ???

So, a tech suggested that you had to WIPE your PC to fix the hotspot issue!  Really? All you had to do was change your Networking settings.


They probably installed a Retail version of Windows 10, and in all likelihood, NONE of the HP drivers your laptop needs.  So, that puts you at a serious disadvantage in terms of hardware features and performance.


So now you've run into a rootkit?  I would wipe the PC and start over in that situation.


As to the DISM command, you are asking it to use a Windows image to repair your PC, and it can not find that image on your PC because it is not there by default.  You need an image of the Windows version the tech installed -- and my guess is that they did not provide you with that, right?


You need to start over using HP Recovery Media to do this right.


If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.

The recovery drive can then be used to install Win10 and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
