Hello
I have a
HP Spectre x360 Convertible 13-aw0xxx
Product number : 7ZC56UA#ABA
Since F.14 BIOS, it has been impossible for me to update the latest version through the Windows installer. Everytime i run it, i get a "There is not enough free disk space to complete the system BIOS and device firmware update operation". Im trying to update from F.15 to F.16.
Bitlocker is temporarily disabled and my SSD has 382GB free.
Can you please advise? I dont want to go through the manual BIOS update procedure since this installer should work on my computer. Its so disappointing.

Hello
This unofficial procedure didnt work either.
The firmware updater program does save some files to the usb but when restarting, i get this screen

i just cant believe these days, HP makes everything so complicated. i ended up doing what i didnt: the manual update.

one think that always happens to me is that the BIOS BIN filename (86F9) doesnt match with my board (86FA).
also, a USB drive equal or larger than 32GB wont work as windows wont format it as FAT32.

Hello @andresmorago
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Community !
Please, open This PC / Windows Explorer and check if you have HP_Tools partition and/or HP Recovery partition.
If they are present, ensure they are not full >> https://support.hp.com/sk-en/document/c03732268
If you do not have HP_Tools partition, please install the UEFI Hardware diagnostics with local UEFI component option and it will create this partition >> http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp106001-106500/sp106092.exe
Make sure there are no USB pendrives mounted/attached to the PC during the update attempt.
Try again and let me know how it goes.

Hello
I dont have HP_Tools partition and/or HP Recovery partition. I do have sp104365.exe (HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI) installed
I just downloaded and installed http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp106001-106500/sp106092.exe but this doesnt produce any final output. It just extracts a TAR file on the C:\SWSetup\SP106092 folder. SysDiags.tar.
Now i went to https://www8.hp.com/us/en/campaigns/hpsupportassistant/pc-diags.html and downloaded version 7.7.0.0. It got successfully installed on a partition (i didnt choose USB) but it doesnt show on my computer

If it installed successfully, have you tried to install the BIOS update afterwards ?

Could you try the workaround proposed >> here
- Remove any usb-stick (...)
- Add (insert) a FAT32 formatted drive to your HP PC/Laptop/Tablet before starting the firmware update procedure. The USB stick should have at least 150 MB free space.
