Linux

I am currently running bios version F.11 and am trying to update to the newest bios version.
I have tried using the hp bios update/recovery option from a usb drive, but the system is unable to read or detect the bios file on the usb. I have also tried using a different/new usb drive, but I get the same result.
I am running Linux, so I would prefer not to use Wine to run the Windows bios updater, as I don't want to risk a bios update failing.
Is there another officially supported method to update the bios, or is there a specific way the bios file needs to be prepared on the usb for this system?
