Hi @Danni27
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.
A blinking Caps Lock light and a blank screen on an HP laptop usually indicate a hardware issue. The blinking pattern can help identify the exact problem. Here are some troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Identify the Blink Code
- Count how many times the Caps Lock blinks in a row before pausing.
- Each blink pattern corresponds to a specific hardware issue (e.g., CPU, RAM, BIOS failure)

Step 2: Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the laptop.
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if removable).
- Hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter.
- Turn on the laptop and check if the issue persists.
Step 3: Reseat the RAM
- Power off the laptop and unplug all cables.
- Open the back panel and locate the RAM sticks.
- Remove and reinsert the RAM securely.
- Restart the laptop.
Step 4: Recover the BIOS
- Plug in the power adapter.
- Hold Windows + B keys, then press the power button for 2-5 seconds.
- Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until you hear beeping sounds.
- If the BIOS recovery screen appears, follow the instructions.
Step 5: Test with an External Monitor
- Connect your laptop to an external display via HDMI.
- If the external monitor works, the issue may be with the internal display or GPU.
Let me know what results you get, and I can refine the approach further!
