Hello.

Yesterday my laptop suddenly wouldn't start anymore: half an hour earlier it was working normally, then I shut it down and when I restarted the machine the screen remained black and the capslock button blinked 5 long + 3 short. I rebooted the computer many times, to no avail.

Today I tried again and it started normally. I run the HP hardware diagnostic, everything is working.

Does anyone know what the problem may be?

Kind regards,

Hi @Robi24

if you test computer over HP HARDWARE DIAGNOSTIC and test passed issue with blinking lights for 5.3 it make reference to your motherboard so... you need contact support team to ship computer to the service center at phone number 800.474.6836 because it is a physical problem

here you have information about the blinking lights

It could have been a glitch in the way Windows does not completely turn off in sleep mode. The next day is a little like a power reset which allowed the PC to start again. I would just see if it presents itself again. In that case, you can always perform a power reset.

Hope it helps,
