I am experiencing color distortion issues on my laptop, where web pages display unusual rainbow-like color patterns, as shown in the attached image. This issue persists across multiple pages and causes visibility problems

Hi @mizbaofficial36,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like you're experiencing display issues on your HP Laptop, which could be related to either software or hardware problems. Here's a step-by-step approach to help you troubleshoot.
Restart Your Laptop
- Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve temporary software glitches that affect the display.
Update Graphics Drivers
- Go to Device Manager > Display Adapters, right-click on your graphics driver, and choose Update Driver.
- You can also visit HP's website or your GPU manufacturer's website (NVIDIA or AMD) to download and install the latest drivers for your graphics card.
Check the Display Settings
- Right-click on your desktop and select Display Settings.
- Make sure the Color Calibration is correct. You can try running the calibration tool by searching for "Calibrate display color" in the Start menu.
- Check the Refresh Rate and Resolution under Advanced Display Settings to ensure they are set to optimal values (usually 60 Hz and the native resolution of your screen).
Disable Hardware Acceleration in Browsers
- If this issue happens mainly on web pages, the hardware acceleration in browsers might be causing the problem.
- For Chrome: Go to Settings > Advanced > System, and disable Use hardware acceleration when available.
- For Firefox: Go to Settings > Performance, and uncheck Use recommended performance settings and then disable Use hardware acceleration when available.
Test with an External Monitor
- If possible, connect your laptop to an external monitor. If the distortion does not appear on the external monitor, it’s likely a problem with your laptop’s screen or its connection to the motherboard.
- If the distortion occurs on both screens, it's more likely a graphics driver or hardware issue.
Update BIOS and Firmware
- Sometimes, display issues can be related to outdated BIOS or firmware. Go to HP Support and download the latest BIOS version for your model.
Check for Malware or Corruption
- Run a full system scan with Windows Defender or any other antivirus software to make sure the issue is not caused by malware or corrupted files.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
