Sorry for bothering you again engineer.

A few days ago they opened the lid of my laptop but here I have one, it showed that there is a large empty space and a possible SATA connector.

From your engineer's point of view... is it possible for a laptop model to support a SATA SSD?

I am looking forward to your response.

Hi:

That large silver colored space is where the optional DVD drive would have gone.

If your notebook supports a 2.5" drive, that would go above that space to the right side of the battery.

Take a look at the illustration in chapter 6, page 45 of the service manual I posted on my first reply to you.

Looking at your screenshot, it appears that you would have to find and buy the parts to install a 2.5" drive that are listed in chapter 3, page 27 of the service manual.

Hard drive bracket                               L20455-001
Hard drive connector board              L20454-001
Hard drive/solid-state drive cable   L20456-001

Excuse my ignorance engineer, according to mw commented that a disk reader can go there in empty space, right?

Can I put a SATA SSD adapter to that connectorIMG-20231006-WA0006(1).jpgIMG-20231006-WA0005(1).jpg207450322-301119618.jpg?

That adapter won't work because it is too thick.

The DVD drive thickness according to chapter 1 of the service manual, which is 9.0mm.

If you can find one that is 9.0mm thick and will fit inside that space, it should work.

If it is too big, you would have to cut a hole in the case so it can fit.

In fact, the image of the adapter is to reference me if it is that one or not?

The way he said it makes it clear that it is possible to adapt the SATA SSD to the connector where the optical disk reader goes, right?

The adapter is too thick (9.5mm) and you won't be able to properly close the bottom cover.

The manual indicates the maximum thickness is 9.0mm, not 9.5mm.

Also, if it does not fit within the inside of the case (if it is too long), you will have to cut a hole in the side.

Unfortunately, I can't help you any further with this question and recommend that you start a new post.

If someone is telling you the adapter will be a 'plug and play' operation with no modifications to the case, it should work.
