Hi, @ricrivERA :
If you can still read all 25 characters of the W7 product key on your notebook's case see if this works...
This site claims to have genuine, unadulterated W7 ISO files for download.
https://www.heidoc.net/joomla/technology-science/microsoft/67-microsoft-windows-iso-download-tool
Click on the link labeled Windows ISO Downloader.exe
You can use either the:
Win 7 Home Premium/Pro (as applicable) SP1 or the (Retail version, but the OEM key on your PC's case will work with it)
Win 7 Home Premium/Pro (as applicable) SP1 COEM (This version would be for what HP would have used--System Builder)
N is for European Union (EU) countries.
K is for South Korean markets.
You can use this tool to transfer the ISO file to a 4 GB USB flash drive or DVD.

Hi @ricrivERA
Thank you for posting.
Here are a few things I would do:
- using GParted just ensure all the drive is erased/formatted without any partitions created prior to the action
- ensure the new HDD is not smaller in capacity than the one it was initially. For example - if you first HDD was 320 GB in capacity, your new one needs to be 500, 750 GB or 1 TB in size.
- purchase and use original HP recovery media. This is the kit (2+2 discs) you will need for your model >> http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-19953-windows-7-premium-professional-64b-recovery-kit-602932-001-f...
Once you ensure the above is completed and once you receive the recovery media, get the first one and boot from it. Follow the instructions > http://hp.dezide.com/ts/start.jsp?guide=HPSystemRecovery.net§ion=ccweb&SFS=tdoc&language=english...
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes.
