Maybe this will help if not already solved by HP tech support?  Also, do you want to try this since - like me - you had previously been able to login with 2-step?  If yes, log into your chromebook with your **bleep** password, click on the time - bottom right corner of tray, click on the lock icon next to the setting icon, and it will lock and unlock your chromebook (all this is so because bluetooth is turned on BOTH on phone and chromebook.  of course, if you NEED to go through the 2 step, then I'm sorry, keep asking the community or HP tech support.
