I purchased the Chromebook x360 for my daughter 1.5 years ago. About 2 months ago the computer displayed that the OS is damaged or missing. Followed the steps to reinstall the OS system using the Recovery tool and a USB stick. Within 24hrs the error reappeared, did all the step again. I am on attempt 4 of fixing the OS and each time within days the error reappears.
There must be something else causing this error. Does anyone else have other ideas?
Thank you

Hi @Sylvie5007
Normally, unless there is a hardware issue, an OS crash is caused by something that an owner inadvertently did.
Is there a website that someone visits prior to this happening or perhaps an online game that is played on the Chromebook?

Hi Erico,
I did a OS fix a week ago and no one used the laptop during that time, when I went to check on it I got the OS missing or damaged again. The only thing that I noticed when turning it on is that it was attempting to do an update.

There does exist the possibility that the USB installation media has a problem.
I suggest creating a new recovery media installation.
I will edit this and provide a link to the latest version for your notebook model series.
You can acquire the latest version from the Chrome web store.

Would you mind rephrasing that?
