I've had my Chromebook (Edited) for 4 years now. No issues until last week when I opened the lid it usually turns on automatically to sign on page. It immediately went to a blank white screen.  Its just stuck on that screen now. I don't care much to repair but I need my precious files thats saved in there. Help!

@Dotwhin Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check External Display (Quick Test)

You may be dealing with a screen failure, not a boot failure.

Plug your Chromebook into an external monitor or TV using HDMI or USB-C.

Open the lid and power it on.

If the external screen works > transfer your files to a USB drive or Google Drive.

If nothing appears on the external display either, continue below.

Enable Recovery Mode and Check for Signs of Life

To enter Recovery Mode:

Hold Esc + Refresh (⟳) keys

Press the Power button

Release all keys when you see a recovery message or any change on the screen

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
