HP Chromebook x360 - 14c-ca0003na

I have a HP Chromebook x360 - 14c-ca0003na and it will no longer boot up or turn on.

Initially, the screen would turn on for a second or 2 and I could see the ChromeOS logo but as it switched to the login screen the chromebook would turn off.

Now the screen will not even turn on.

The battery is fully charged, i get a white charging light when plugged into the charging port at either side and it is not overheating as I have tried turning it on from cold, while plugged in and while unplugged.

There is nothing plugged into the USB or SD port.

I have tried booting to recovery mode but the screen still does not turn on. The only thing that happens is the fan runs for 1 second and the power button lights up for around 10 seconds and then the chromebook turns back off.

I have created a recovery USB using another laptop, inserted it into the chromebook and tried booting it with no improvements, the screen still does not turn on and the fan and power light act as before.

Closing and opening the chromebook makes the power button light turn on but the fan does not engage and the screen still does not turn on.

The chromebook is only a couple of years old, is now out of warranty but has had no issues up until now, it has simply just started to act up.

I believe this may be a hardware issue.

Please does anyone have any advice on actions I can try that may get the machine working again?
