Chrome OS

Tried the suggested fixes shift-control-alt-R with power-on and ESC-refresh with power-on or power off holding refresh button, I get the same message: 

Chrome OS is missing or damaged. 

Please remove all connected devices and start recovery.

Also tried tapping the power button several times, still NG.

I got it to display debug info, says TPM Initialization error.

TPM State: communications error

Also tried creating an SD card with the Chromebook Recovery Program, but it bombs out and doesn't complete.
