Hi,

Attempting to to a complete clean install of win10 from a USB Media Creation and it's continuosly stuck on 1%. I've tried deleting all the partitions and trying with 1 Unallocated partition and i've also removed all partitions and created a New set via the tool but it keeps sticking at the 1%.

Have i now completely ruined my daughters machine ? 😞

Appreciate any help ?

Thanks

Steve

Hello;

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!

If this PC was two years old, or older, I would suspect a failing hard drive -- but is shows on the HP product page as coming preinstalled with Win10, so I'm guessing it is newer than that.

My second guess would be a problem with the installation media, especially since you are apparently able to boot from other media to do partitioning work.

What you really SHOULD be using to restore this PC is HP Recovery Media -- which you can use this link to order:  HP PCs - Obtaining HP Recovery Discs or an HP USB Recovery Drive | HP® Customer Support

Good Luck

Hi,

Thanks for response and the Welcome

i'm just using a Windows 10 Media Creation Tool on a USB that i've used previously, maybe it has become corrupted and i should create another ? The deletion/creation of partitions was done through that so not booting from other media.
