HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-dh0500na

Hi,

I have the laptop - HP Pavilion x360 Convertible Laptop PC 14-dh0500na

It ran Windows 11 previously.

I have done a RAM and storage upgrade.

I've downloaded Windows 11 onto a USB and when I attempt to install, it states "We couldn't find any drivers".

I think I may need the Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver? However can't find it for my laptop under the Windows 11 operating system?

Any help and advice is greatly appreciated!

Hi:

You can use the HP cloud recovery tool which you can use to create a bootable USB recovery drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook;

Here is an info link for how to use the utility.  You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

HP Consumer PCs - Using the HP Cloud Recovery Tool in Windows 11 and 10 | HP® Support

You can download the recovery tool software from the Microsoft Store.

HP Cloud Recovery Tool - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store

Since you have to use the utility on another PC, you will have to enter your notebook's product number in the tool's search window in order to proceed.

Your notebook's product number is 6TC60EA#ABU.

If you want to do a clean install, these are the only storage controller drivers I know of that might work which I have zipped up and attached below.

Copy all of the files in both folders in the attached file to a USB flash drive.

Have the flash drive and your Windows installation media plugged into USB ports.

Boot from the W10/W11 installation flash drive.

When you get to the screen where no drives can be found, click on the Load driver option, browse to the flash drive with the storage controller drivers on it.

If you check the box, it will only include the compatible driver.

Click Next and Windows should find the drive and install.

Thanks for your help so far.

I did all of the above to no avail with error “error get failure from dynamic recovery tool” and the BIOS does not seem to pick up the SSD.

Unfortunately I think I may have purchase the incorrect SSD.

Are you able to tell me what SSD is compatible with this model?

Thank you.

You're very welcome.

The product specs for your notebook just indicates that it came with a 128 GB M.2 SSD.

Since it has an Intel Intel® Pentium® Gold 5405U processor, I believe that the notebooks with the Intel Pentium and Celeron processors only support M.2 SATA SSDs, but the service manual does not make any distinctions.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP Pavilion x360 14 Convertible PC

Does the 128 GB M.2 SSD you removed have one or two notches?

If it has two notches and you bought a NVMe SSD (one notch), then that must be the problem.

You would need to buy a SATA SSD...something like this:

WD Blue SA510 500GB, M.2 SATA SSD, up to 560 MB/s, Includes Acronis True Image for Western Digital, ...
